Accessibility
This website is built to be read easily.
Working draft, pending compliance sign-off.
Our clients are typically aged 65 and over, so the website is designed for them first. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What that means here
- Body text is 18px, with generous line spacing and short lines.
- Text and background colours are checked for contrast; colour is never the only way to understand something.
- Buttons and links are at least 46px tall, so they are easy to tap.
- Every page works with the keyboard alone, with a clear, visible focus outline and a “skip to the main content” link.
- Pages are written in plain language, and headings follow a logical order for screen readers.
- Photographs describe their scene in words, and the play button for our film says what it does.
- The site works at 200% zoom without losing content, and without sideways scrolling.

Where we are not there yet
The film has sound. Captions are being prepared: [to be confirmed]. The pages of the application journey are being tested with older users and with screen readers.
